Guest Post: All I Want for Christmas (From Melody’s Point of View)
*Based on character Melody’s point of view from new release- “If You Believe”
All I Want for Christmas- If You Believe
Once upon a time, not so long ago, my heart was filled with Christmas cheer and joy around each holiday season. As a child, my eyes sparkled with happiness as I felt the magic of the season. Years later, as an adult, Jack and I would share the season, Jack made me feel the delight and magic that I experienced as a child.  Now, with Jack gone, I find myself surrounded by family and friends, but without Jack my heart is empty and the light has gone out of my eyes.
All I want for Christmas? For years, all I’ve wanted was my husband, Jack back in my arms. Forget about fancy gifts, the parties and decorations, the only thing on my mind around the holiday season is Jack’s smiling face, his sparkling blue eyes and warm smile. Will my Christmas wishes come true? I know in my heart that it’s not possible, it can never come to be. But this year, the air seems to be filled with magic and intrigue as I am lucky to have met not only a new friend, but also a man who is slowly warming my heart.
Will I let love in? Will I keep Jack in my heart but make room for another? My feelings run deep and I’m torn. Will I get my Christmas wish? Will I finally experience love and everything the most special gift in the world has to offer?  Somewhere deep in my heart, I know there’s still hope…I’m wishing for a Christmas miracle.
Have a Merry Christmas and a joyous holiday season.

Character Interview: Jack

Double Decker Books: It’s nice to have you here today, Jack. Can you tell us a little about your mission this holiday season?

Jack: Yes, first of all, I want to provide a bit of background. I was Melody’s husband and I died several years ago. Melody and I were very happy, planning for a bright future together. I’ve watched Melody from above and have witnessed and felt her pain as I see that she hasn’t moved on.

Double Decker Books: You mean she hasn’t met another man? Hasn’t fallen in love again?

Jack: Well, yes. But it’s so much more. The light has gone out of Melody’s eyes, her smile. She used to be happy, her smile contagious. It’s breaking my heart to see her so sad, I can’t move on until I see that Melody does.

Double Decker Books: Oh, that’s heartbreaking, Jack. I understand how hard this must be for you. So tell me, what is the plan?

Jack: (sighs) That’s where it gets really difficult for me. You see, I come down to Earth in disguise. I look completely different, I sound different. I tell Melody that my name is Oliver and work hard to befriend her.

Double Decker Books: Wow! You mean she has no idea that Oliver is really you?

Jack: Not at all, but she does seem to take notice of my eyes. You see, my eyes are the one thing that I couldn’t change. Melody and I become quite close as friends, but it hurts to be so close to her and not tell her that I love her, I can’t even hold her in my arms.

Double Decker Books: Why not? Not even as a good friend?

Jack: No, we had so much chemistry together in life that I felt a spark the one time I touched her, I fear that touching Melody would give away my true identity.  I have such a short period of time left on Earth to make Melody happy again, to find a man for her to fall in love with.

Double Decker Books: Wait- did you say that you want to find a man for Melody?

Jack: Yes. It’s the only way that Melody can really move on. As difficult as it sounds, I need to help her fall in love by Christmas Eve at midnight.

Double Decker Books: What happens then?

Jack: My time is up, at that point I can never come back to Earth again.

Double Decker Books: It seems that you’ve got your work cut out for you. I can’t imagine how you’re going to feel, seeing your Melody with another man.

Jack: That part is going to be the hardest, but my love for Melody is selfless, I want my Melody to love again, to be happy again. I’m willing to do this for her, I’ll always love her and I know she feels the same. Melody has enough love in that big heart of hers to let love in and keep our memories alive. My wish for Christmas this year is for Melody to find herself again and let go of the hurt.

Double Decker Books: Thank you so much for joining us today, it was a pleasure to meet you. Jack, one last question. What is your Christmas wish? What do you want more than anything this holiday season?

Jack: I’m wishing for a Christmas miracle.

the cover reveal for Mending Heartstrings by Aria Glazki

BOOK & AUTHOR INFO:

Mending Heartstrings by Aria Glazki
Published by: Swoon Romance
Publication date: December 2nd 2014Genres: Adult, Romance

Synopsis:
Kane’s a country singer who’s tangled with too many deceitful women. He’s learned his lesson: girls are for flirting and fun; emotions are for his music. But after spending a night with an earnest woman unlike any he’s known, he can’t force her out of his mind. So he goes in search of the woman he knows only as “Elle.”

On her last night in Nashville, the staunchly pragmatic Sabella found herself in a situation more suited to a romance novel than reality. Swept away, she ignored her rigidly self-imposed rules, succumbing to the fantasy just this once. But she knows real-world relationships have nothing in common with their fictionalized portrayals. When Kane unexpectedly shows up at her Portland apartment, she must choose between the practical truths she has learned and the desire for a passionate love she has struggled to suppress.

Despite the distance, Kane’s tour schedule, and their meddling friends, both are drawn to the chance for a romance neither quite believes is possible.

AUTHOR BIO:
Aria’s writing story started when her seventh-grade English teacher encouraged her to submit a class assignment for publication.  That piece was printed, and let’s just say, she was hooked!

Since then, Aria has run a literary magazine, earned her degree in Creative Writing (as well as in French and Russian literatures), and been published in a few collections.  Though her first kiss technically came from a bear cub, and no fairytale transformation followed, Aria still believes magic can happen when the right people come together – if they don’t get in their own way, that is.

Other than all things literary, Aria loves spending time with her family, including her two unbearably adorable nieces. She also dabbles in painting, dancing, playing violin, and, given the opportunity, Epicureanism.

BOOK & AUTHOR INFO:

Still Me by Amy Patrick
(20Something #3)
Publication date: October 10th 2014
Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:

Fall in love like a 20 Something….
23 year old Kenley Moran is going through a mid-life crisis… WAY early. Pushed since childhood by a nightmare stage-mom to use her looks to “land a rich man”, she’s reeling from a broken engagement and regretting the day she gave up her career in TV news for a guy.
Now Kenley’s determined to change her life, shunning makeup and fashion and fighting her way back into the highly competitive career she loves, off-camera this time. When she lands a producing job at Worldwide News Network in Atlanta, she plans to keep her head down, work hard, and prove she’s not just another pretty face. And vows NO ONE is EVER going to make her compromise herself again.
WNN anchor Larson Overstreet has it all—old money, good looks, a prestigious job, and more women than he can count throwing themselves at him. Problem is… none of it is real. He’s known his whole life that people are only interested in him for his fortune and his famous family name, in that order. Except for Kenley. The shy news producer isn’t interested in him at all.
Working closely with the anchor of her new show, Kenley’s dismayed to feel an instant spark. Larson’s everything she doesn’t want. He’s too good looking, too charming, and worst of all, too rich. She’s not looking for another big money honey. In fact, she’d prefer a nice little guy from the mailroom, maybe a guy who lives at home like she’s been forced to do.
But when they must travel together for a special report, Kenley realizes Larson’s not the spoiled pretty rich boy she pegged him as, and she’s not as immune to him as she’s pretended to be.
Now, even at the network level, what happens behind the scenes is the real story.

Cover Reveal: One Song Away

BOOK & AUTHOR INFO:

One Song Away by Molli Moran
Publication date: December 2014
Genres: New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:
She needs a fill-in boyfriend. He needs a favor. It's the perfect, no-strings arrangement -- until they both realize it's too real...

Sophie-Claire Wright's life is like a bad country song on repeat. She keeps running into her cheating ex, her songwriting career isn't taking off, and to make matters worse, her roommate just kicked her out of their apartment. With nothing to lose, she decides to do the one thing she said she'd never do: she moves back home. She left her small Southern town with big dreams, but now she's going home with empty pockets.

Life moves at a slower pace in Sophie’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it hometown, but her well-meaning, matchmaking mother doesn't have a slow gear. She invents a boyfriend to hold off her mother's efforts, but she’s out of luck when her mom wants to meet Sophie’s boyfriend. Sophie panics until she runs into Jake Cooper. Her high school crush is back in town, too, and when he asks her for a favor, she agrees -- on one condition. He says he'll be her fill-in boyfriend, so it should be simple: introduce him to her family and then "break up" with him after a few weeks.

Sophie is sure she'll be able to resist Jake this time and that their fake relationship will keep them both away from wagging tongues. Just because she was in love with him years ago doesn't mean she'll fall for him again now, right? But she didn't bargain for moments that feel all too genuine. Dates that don't seem fake. And she didn't count on old feelings resurfacing and complicating their arrangement —- which is starting to feel less like acting and more like the real deal.

Soon, Sophie can't tell which kisses are real or fake -- but she knows she's in deep. When she gets a chance to go back to Nashville and chase her dreams again, she has a choice to make: stay or go? Continue hoping that the life she wants is one song away, or write her own?

Please visit http://emmasouth.com/?page_id=31 to sign up for my newsletter.

I'm in my thirties and living in New Zealand. About 2 years ago I lost somebody very close to me. I was lucky in a way, I was given enough time to make a promise. My promise was that I would never forget our young and innocent love, and it's a promise I intend to keep.

My writing is a way to help me keep that promise. I've always enjoyed writing but was forced into being 'prudent' and giving myself over to soul-crushing office work for the sake of a steady salary. Recent events forced me to re-evaluate my priorities and I decided to take a chance. I like to put little pieces of 'us' into my writing, from funny conversations we had, to apocalyptic arguments, to that special feeling you get when you hop into bed fully aware that your feet are freezing but your partner doesn't kick you away.

Even though these things are set in fictional worlds and attached to fictional characters, in a way it feels like I'm doing something that will make our love live forever. If somebody reads one of my stories and likes a joke or sheds a tear, then our love has lived on, and I thank any readers I might have for that.

All truths burn bright and clear. I’m still waiting in the dark.

There are beautiful lies in this world, and it takes me being chased through a hallway at a rave to decide this girl is one of them. But even the most beautiful lies aren’t worth chasing.

Twenty-five year-old Beckett Reid is forced into sabbatical after he’s kidnapped while on assignment in Afghanistan. AUTHOR BIO
Heidi Acosta was born on Long Island, New York. Moving around a lot when she was younger, she has lived in New York, Arizona, New York (again), Washington, Georgia, and Florida, in that order. Each place offered her something special, but she will always consider New York her home.
Heidi started writing as soon as she could spell. When she was three, Heidi’s mother gave her a copy of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House in the Big Woods; thus beginning her lifelong love affair with literature.
Writing soon also became a form of therapy for Heidi, when she realized that no matter what was happening in her life, she could find emotional escape while writing. Some of her earliest stories featured her as a princess who explored new worlds with her horse Buttercup. If it sounds romantic, it wasn’t, there was no prince charming in those fairy lands (boys where yucky).
Heidi now resides in Florida with her husband, very active daughter, one hyper Chihuahua, two sweet cats, and one very fat moody cat.
Barbie Girl is the first Novel of Heidi’s new, four-book, Baby Doll Series: Barbie Girl, Barbie World, Doll Face, and Southern Sugar.
